Intermediary Services

An Intermediary Service facilitates contact between an adopted adult and their birth relatives.

According to current legislation, only a registered Adoption Support Agency or an Adoption Agency, may provide an intermediary service. Whilst there is nothing to stop you going ahead on your own, you may only get one chance at making contact. Using an experienced intermediary as a third party does make contact a little less emotionally overwhelming for everyone involved. The intermediary provides mediation, support and advice in complete confidence, working towards a mutually satisfactory outcome for both parties.

Now we both have confirmation of finally knowing who our biological father really is. Our story is practically complete. Two more stages to go, and with Kathy's advice and support will hopefully soon be concluded.
